Reserve is an oriental fougere for men from Original Penguin, launched in 2013. It pairs a citrus and juniper opening with warm spice, then dries down to vetiver, sandalwood and sea moss. The result is a spicy, woody scent with a slightly bitter edge.

Top: Italian mandarin, juniper berry, Averno Amaro Siciliano bitters, red grapefruit
Heart: Nutmeg, clove, cardamom, musk, amber
Base: Sea moss, vetiver, sandalwood
How it wears
Opens crisp and a little bitter with mandarin, grapefruit and juniper. Nutmeg, clove and cardamom warm the middle before vetiver and sandalwood hold the base. Works best in fall and cooler weather, for the office or evenings out.
Size and concentration
Eau de Toilette. Eau de Toilette has a lighter concentration of fragrance oil than Eau de Parfum, so it opens lively and fades sooner, which suits daytime wear and a midday reapplication.
